technical observation of Deluvia The oceanic planet of Deluvia is 98% immersed in water. Land masses are very small and scattered. Thousands of islands sink and rise as the tides swell and recede.

Deluvia circles a bright yellow sun much like Sol. Three beautiful moons circle the planet like a necklace of jewels.

Double the size of earth, Deluvia's gravity is more intense than "standard M class worlds". Atmospheric weather is quite violent but most of Deluvia's inhabitants are sea-dwelling.

A Maximal expedition into this region identified this planet as a very hospitable planet teaming with a variety of unique life forms. Before first contact was made, a Maximal observatory was established in orbit. After identifying deep-sea terrain and classifying populates of life-forms, an underwater science outpost was established.

After establishing relations with several sentient life forms, the Maximals decided that colonization would be too intrusive for the current inhabitants.

Undersea Science Center But a permanent Maximal outpost was permitted by Deluvian groups. Pictured here is a primary Science building attached to the main Aquabase. The main Aquabase is the central Maximal structure. Additionally several Aquaspheres and science complexes are placed in each major region of Deluvia.

Several standard functions are carried out by the Maximal scientists:

  • Xenobiology
  • Diplomatic relations
Several specialized brances of science are studied here including:
  • Underwater Archeology
  • Oceanography
  • Ocean bathymetry
  • Hydrodynamics
  • Seawater chemistry
But beyond the facts, Deluvia is blessed with an abundance of natural phenomena, a rich variety of plant and animal life, and a diversity of sentient life.

The planet of Deluvia will gradually be unfolded thru the exploits of two Maximals, Octal and her brother Octahedron. They are descendants from the Maximal scientists but natives of Deluvia.
