Markatron's character development commentary:

Subject: Armor Chromia (Chromia + Silver Owl)

Armor Chromia is not only the most visually stunning but she was the most complicated re-design of a re-design. I had to move around quite a few elements for this "Armor mode" to work.

I wanted a nice coat of feathers to wrap Chromia. But I didn't want to detract from her reflective chrome. So I had to come up with an animal with lots of feathers yet be shiny. The idea of the owl actually came to me from some old 80's fantasy movie. I recall a robotic golden owl in this movie. I figured the owl's main wings would become wonderful coverings for her arm. The tail could provide an beautiful armor skirt.

Well, even in the initial sketch of her, I knew this would be turn out to be a beautiful piece. I simply loved her coat of feathers. I gave the wings a slight upturn to make it even more elegant.

Armor mode involves some transformation for Chromia.
First, the panels behind her arms fold to her back.
Second, the vents beside her neck fold to her back over the panels.
Then her shoulder armor swings back covering the vents to become a jet backpack.
Finally, the jets over her shoulders move to the side of the backpack and rotate vertical. Now the Silver Owl can dock on Chromia. main wings (including pulse blaster assemblies and half of the head) cover each shoulder. Owl tail feathers join both triple-missile packs to form the waist armor. faceplate splits and forms the wing flares behind each shoulder. Owl legs become shoulder cannons. Owl's back cannons form her four-barrel pistol.

I don't know where the curved blade comes from. Subspace maybe. Who knows. I thought I'd give this moon-crescent blade to Moon Racer but Chromia didn't look good with a "normal" looking sword.
